"There is rising concern throughout the world that we are ignoring the risks of climate change" said Sarah Sharp, Chichester's only Green Councillor. Residents of Chichester are responding to this by setting up regular Eco Meet-Ups to start on Monday 7th January.

The City Council's decision to refer the motions on climate change and single-use plastic to all three committees in January was the first step in addressing the most serious challenges facing all levels of government.

Chichester and Bognor Green Party has taken part in a nationwide call on the Government to launch nationwide annual Car Free Days to mark the global event that takes places in other countries every September.

Every year Southdowns Peace Group holds an event to commemorate the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, and of Nagasaki on 9 August. This year the event will be held from 11am to 3 pm on Wednesday 8 August, in front of the Council House, North St Chichester. Green Party members and supporters are encouraged to attend, to help give out leafltes , and talk to people about the significance of the day.

The Arun Local Plan was adopted earlier this month, to the dismay of many across the district. With its key aim of economic growth and job creation, it realistically cannot meet its stated desire for a sustainable vision.
